These horses weighed over a ton and I was always very wary of photographing them, especially when surrounded by lights and photographic gear. Fortunately for me because of their experience at countless fetes and agriculture shows plus the annual appearance at the Lord Mayors show, they were always immaculately behaved though I did hear a story of a woman coming out of a pub a little worse for wear who decided for some reason to give the dray horse a whack and ended up on her backside on the pavement!
